Amy Tsang (曾愛媚) is a trilingual Chinese American actress known for her enigmatic presence and grounded, emotionally layered performances.
Born in Boston and raised between the United States and Hong Kong, Tsang brings a global perspective to her work. She studied Fine Art at Tsinghua University in Beijing before leaving to pursue acting.
Tsang recurs as Ensign Rane, an “Acolyte” witch, in Disney+’s Star Wars: The Acolyte, and appeared in the Season 2 finale of The CW’s Kung Fu.
She began her career in Hong Kong after placing in the Top 5 of the 2006 Miss Hong Kong Pageant, leading to a contract with Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB). Over five years, she built an extensive resumé with more than eighty television and film credits, demonstrating range and consistency across high-volume productions.
Now based in Los Angeles, Tsang has appeared in S.W.A.T., Magnum P.I., Grey’s Anatomy, Lucifer, and Shameless, and starred in the award-winning feature films Silent River—earning a Best Actress nomination at the Next Generation Indie Film Awards—and Love Shot.
“Tsang has a beguiling mystery about her... (she) gives a wary fatalism to Karen.”
“Tsang is asked to do a lot and delivers a convincingly ethereal presence.”
“Yet it was the mercurial way Tsang conducted herself that was particularly riveting. Tsang embodied Greta and Julie so perfectly that it was easy to tell when she was playing without help from the script. For example, one scene in which she shares a bath with her husband is equally electrifying and heartbreaking. Tsang is, in many ways, the centerpiece of ‘Silent River’, as enigmatic with moments of breathtaking emotional clarity as the film itself. Conflicted yet decisive, Tsang’s Greta is a fascinating creation.”
